      Judges certification is a big step in the USPCA and we are proud of our judges!   See below forms for requirements of certification.

Before you begin the online application,  please review the above requirements.   Any applications received less than 60 days before the next National Board Meeting may be retained until the next meeting at the discretion of the Judges Chairman.  Applications take time to process and research.

NON TRAINER OPTIONS 
To Chief Judge a PDI Trial,  you must be a National PDI judge AND a Level I or greater Trainer. 
To Chief judge a Detection Trial,  you must be a Regional or National Detector Judge AND be a Detector Trainer OR Level II or greater trainer . 
We are now offering an option to the above requirements for those that are not certified as trainers but otherwise meet qualifications:   
1) You must have certified with a K9 in a like USPCA Trial at least five times.  (I.e. if you are applying for PDI,  you must have certified in 5 PDI trials) 
2) You  must be a novice CHIEF judge under a certified Chief Judge at a like USPCA regional trial with not less than 10 k9's.  Chief judge must provide documentation that the novice was tutored.   
3) You must have judged at least 200 K9's in each venue.  If you are wanting to Chief Judge Explosives,  you must have been a handler or trainer of an explosive dog.  SO you also must have judged an ORT phase as well as packages.   
4)  Must retake and successfully pass the national judge PDI/Detector judge (which ever one you are applying for) test administered by the judges committee unless it was taken within the last three years. 
 5)  Must have been a scorekeeper for a like trial with at least 10 K9's participating.

Chief Judge Responsibilities - For all Certification types.
The Committee Chairpersons request that all applications be submitted 60 days prior to the next National meeting.  Anything received late may be held until the following meeting.   National Meetings are held in the spring at Detector Nationals and in the fall at National Field Trials and if possible,  every three months between trials if applicable.
