The Hibbing Police Department is hosting "ALL THINGS K9",  instructed by Josh Brainard. 

Class topics include:    Understanding how police k9's think, learn and behave/Becoming fluent as a backup officer for a k9 team/ Understanding odor,  how it moves, and how the environment affects it/ Being prepared for concealment techniques and masking odors/master narcotic sniffs and patrol deployments/improve tracking, trailing and area searches/ Effective ways to contain, locate and apprehend suspects/ How to properly utilize a k9 during high risk deployments/Gain awareness of heat injuries and k9 first aid/understand k9 specific case law,  preparing for court and record keeping/prevent handler, supervisor and department liability 

You will leave confident in your ability to handle, train, supervise and assist a K9.
